Childhood Experience #387 That My Husband Missed Out On

As child number six out of six, Andrew kind of got the short end of the stick on childhood experiences. They either did once in a lifetime things when he was too young to remember or the older kids just didn't want to do the every once in a while things again.

So, he missed out on all the holiday cartoons, trips to Enchanted Forest and stuff like that. I, however, not only got to do all that stuff the first time around but have done so all my life. I played with Lego's and watched Scooby Doo in college. No shame, here. I am a kid at heart!

This weekend while we were getting ready for a huge family party, I suggested s'mores. We've got a fire pit in the backyard and the kids would love it. He vetoed the idea but a day later, changed his mind. While making a list for the store he said "So, what do we need for the s'mores. Graham crackers, marshmellows...and what kind of syrup do I buy?"

Oh, my stinkin' heck!!!! He seriously had never had them before and thought that syrup was used on them!!

It's reasons like this that he should thank his lucky stars he married me. :D

It's been a while!

Sorry 'bout that! We've got something pretty cool in the works and it's taken up a lot of our time! :D

In other news, we're having Andrew's family over this evening for a big family BBQ. Andrew's sister and her family are here from Hawaii so we're celebrating! We've got two kiddie pools set up and a Slip-n-Slide! Oh, yeah! I'm busting out my camera for that! LOL!

Mickey is really looking forward to seeing his cousins and I'm looking forward to hosting a family function. Our old house in Canby was much too small for this sort of thing. Well, the backyard was fine but the inside was very...cozy! :D

She Rolled Over!!!

My baby girl rolled over last night! From back to front! I was so stinkin' excited (even though she did it while I wasn't looking) and then she rolled back onto her back while I was watching. Oh, she is growing up so fast!

She's a squirmey one, too! She can wriggle herself off a play mat in next to no time at all.

She's also a very smiley baby. She wakes up with a smile and her cute toothless grin makes me so happy.

She's a big talker, too. Cooing and babbling and "talking" up a storm.

She's growing so fast. She's wearing 3 month and 3-6 month clothes. I really have to get the 0-3 month stuff out of her closet. When Andrew or I accidentally put her in a 0-3 month outfit, she looks like a stuffed sausage! LOL!

She doesn't like strong perfume or cologne and will cry if the person holding her is wearing it.

Her eyes are still blue and I think they are going to stay that way.

I just love that baby girl of mine. My heart sings with joy when I see her. I know, it's cheesy, but it's true.

Happy Independence Day!

~We're up in the air as to a Silverton or Mt. Angel parade this year.
~The Canby parade is in the afternoon so it's going to be way too hot for us!
~The kids are dressed up in red, white and blue.
~Andrew and I are in olive, aqua and white. LOL!
~I made blue cupcakes in silver liners last night.
~I'll be frosting them white and then adding red sprinkles later today.
~Tonight is a BBQ at Ron & Karen's new house.
~Then some wild, insane fireworks after dark

Hope you all have a great 4th of July!!! :D

I Love White!

I seriously love the color white!

Example 1

When Andrew and I were registering for wedding gifts he wanted to get patterned dishes and I wanted plain white. He thought they were boring and insisted on a pattern. I proceeded to proclaim my love for the pinkest and girliest dishes I could find until he reached the point of pure frustration. Then, I pointed to some lovely, heavy weight white dishes. I now have them living in my cupboards and still adore them!

Example 2

I buy lots of white baby/kids clothes even though my sister-in-law warned me against them. She was rooting for the stain hiding power of dark and patterned kids clothes. While I do put Mickey in navy on spaghetti nights, the power of bleach makes getting stains out of whites sooooo much easier than doing three loads of lights treated with Shout. Long live bleach and white clothes!

Example 3

I created this blog post about my love of white just for a chance to win some of the newest Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. They came out with six new colors and...one of them is white!!!! Squeal!!! They also have a new label!
It's super cute and rest assured Glimmer Mist is the same great product with a Fabulous NEW Look! I cannot wait to use Marshmallow Glimmer Mist on some of my chipboard albums. It's gonna look fabulous! :D
