Lifting the Lovely Alex!

This was my favorite Nook challenge! I was to lift one of the other gals' layouts in the gallery and we got to pick out of the entire gallery! Well, I've loved this layout of Alex's since the moment I saw it (and everything else of hers as well) so it was a no brainer. You can see the rest of her gorgeous work here.

How crazy awesome is that layout?!?!  I lifted it using the Farmhouse line from Crate Paper and a bunch of twine from The Twinery.

I really love how it turned out and I love that I actually scrapped myself!  Go me!

Well, that's it for my Nook layouts!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Rose by Any Other Name

For this challenge, we had to take inspiration from one of a few movie posters offered.  I chose this one!
And, this is the layout I came up with.  It's all about Audrey's name and the history behind it.

The swirls are cut using a Sizzix die I found on clearance at JoAnn's.  I love finding little treasures like that!  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Brave-Punky Sprouts Style

This month we got to play with the awesome mists from Lindy's Stamp Gang along with some of my favorite Crafter's Workshop templates. I used the adorable Tutu Punk album and created a sort of art journal based on my One Little Word for this year, Brave.

I used gel medium to adhere Lil' Lacey Blossoms and some of my favorite quotes about braveness. I covered the corrugated and chipboard pages with a layer of gesso and then added mists, the other pages I sprayed directly on them.

I stamped as well as doodled on the chipboard pages. Basically, I just had a bunch of fun with it!!!

I also played around with the templates. On this page, I sprayed on the template itself and used it as a stamp!

This next page has one of my favorite quotes about bravery on it.

On this page, I wanted it to reflect the quote so I sprayed the Blossoms yellow and then adhered some mica flakes on them to resemble a beach of sorts.

I added a bunch of glitter over the Blossom on this page. I love this quote by Donna Downey, when I'm crafting I try to keep it in the forefront of my mind. :)

I hope you enjoyed this album, it's my first foray into art journaling and I really had a lot of fun.

Computer Issues & Hip Issues =MIA Erica!

Sorry I've been a little absent lately.  My desktop got crazy slow for a while and I had to stop blogging for a bit, it took a day to get a post up!  Yikes!  Anyway, I got my desktop back up and running a lot speedier (thanks, Bill!!!!) and then my left hip started acting up.  It's really crazy, it only hurts when I sit for a while.  So, I'm still a bit behind on everything.  Today, I'm hoping to share some of my Nook layouts and then get my latest Punky Sprouts album scheduled for tomorrow.  (This album is soooo not my normal style and I love it!)

Here we go with the Nook layouts!  :)

A little layout about Aud turning three.  We had to lift elements from three different layouts posted.  I lifted the white background, the mist splotches, the butterflies and the kit I used.
I love this little folded paper piece I made.  It's so cute!  I don't recommend using a striped paper though, it took a bit of work to get them to line up!
I punched these butterflies out of patterned paper, Punky Sprouts Lil' Lacey Blossoms and layered some of them.
A little clustering at the top of the layout with a three to show her age.
I can't remember what the challenge was for this layout, but I've been wanting to scrap these pics forever and I think they were just made for this Lily Bee paper!
This last layout was for the challenge to have one or more film strips on your page.  I stamped a few underneath the photo of our Devo.  We still miss him so!

I added one bright yellow flower just to symbolize rememberance.  We miss you pal!
Well, that's all my hip can take right now.  I may schedule the rest of my stuff standing up if I can't get it to feel better in the next half hour or so.  Wish me luck!
