CKC-Seattle

The first half of November was quite busy for me. I had a two day trip to Seattle for the Creating Keepsakes Convention, followed immediately by a six day trip to Cabo.

I headed up north to Seattle on the morning of the 8th, picking up some Punky Sprouts goodies from Shelly.  After leaving Shelly, I realized that I'd forgotten to fill up my tank in Oregon.  For those who may not know, you cannot pump your own gas in Oregon and in Washington, you have to.  Let's just say I appreciate this little luxury and as such, I've never pumped my own gas on my own before.  I've had friends walk me through it, flirted with gas station attendants to have them do or begged random strangers for help.  This day, I pumped my own gas, all by myself.  I was dancing as I walked into the gas station to get my receipt!  :)

I cruised up I-5 and made fairly decent time to arrive at the Hilton where I'd be staying with my friend, Joscie.  She and I both loved their elevators!

Our friend Noel was already at the hotel (I could hear her and Joscie laughing through the door) and the three of us made our way to A-Muse Stamps.  Joscie hooked us up with a guided tour from Vanessa, who was super sweet!  The four of us had a wonderful lunch afterwards.

Here's Joscie, Noel and I.  Can you tell we love aqua?  ;)

Some colorful A-Muse goodies!

Noel, with a few appropriate stamp sets.  ;)

Joscie and I had signed up for the Thursday Technique crop so we headed back that way.  We made sure to sit in the back so our giggling and chatting wouldn't bug anyone.

We got our picture taken by some of the CKC staff.  CKC has the greatest crew!

I signed up for another class because she had a bunch that she had signed up for and I'm so glad I did.  This one was a lot of fun and I really loved the products used in it.

After class, I went shopping a little more and then met up with Joscie for one last goodbye photo.

Then, it was off to teach a class for Punky Sprouts.  I had great students in that class and even ended up taking the (school bus) shuttle back to the hotel with some of them.

After two awesome days, I had to hop back in my car and drive right back home.  I finally pulled into my driveway at 11:45 pm.  Crazy, but so worth it!!!

Pumpkin Carving!

At Mickey's school they held a Family Pumpkin Carving Night.  It's a fund raiser put on by the PTA for the 6th grade class, they sell pumpkins at the event.  As I'm now a PTA member (squeee!!!) I volunteered to help set up.  Here are some of the pics from the set up.

Our PTA president!

Ready for carvers!

Aud was my little helper.  She put the orange bowls on each table.

The event!  We arrived a bit later in the evening so it wasn't quite as crowded.

Mickey drew his face on his pumpkin!

The guts!  We saved them for a parent who wanted them for his goat.  I'm not sure if our goat, Cleatus would have liked that.  ;)

The yummy donuts!  There were a ton left and Audrey did her best to help them out.  I think that girl had four at least!

My little ones and their pumpkins. Note the donut in Miss Thing's hand!

And a shot with Daddy.

The finished product!

I really enjoyed this pumpkin carving night.  Not only was it for a good cause, but I had very little clean up.  Win!!!  LOL!

He's Six!!!

My little miracle man, Mickey, is six years old! His birthday was this weekend but as I got strep throat, we had to move his party back a week. Needless to say, he was a tad disappointed! He's such a sweetie that he forgave me quickly though. He even talked his dad into buying me my favorite chips at the store when they were there getting more rice and cottage cheese for the also sick dog. (Yeah, it was a great weekend at our house. :::eyeroll::: ) I love that little boy so much!

Here are some of my favorite recent layouts featuring...Little Man!!!

And, here's the front of the invite for his birthday this year.  I made it with pictures of six of his favorite things right now.  Angry Birds, pizza, Transformers (specifically Bumblebee), Hot Wheels, Star Wars (we're watching the movies together), and Legos are a few of his favorite things right now.  He's also really big into sports (just like Daddy!) and super heros!

He's also doing really well in school and loving it, too!  I help out once a week or so in his class and he works so hard in class and understands so much, it makes me so happy!  He's really into trying to read and I can hear him in the back seat of the car sometimes, sounding out the words to his latest library book.

Happy Birthday, Mickey!  I love you so much!!!

Kah-Nee-Ta Punky Sprouts Album

Hey guys! This month we at Punky Sprouts are swapping with our very own Joscie!!! She's got an adorable line of flair that you can purchase in either foam backed, magnet backed or pin backed! You can see them all here at her store called bossyJoscie. This month we are also showcasing the new embossing powders available in the Punky store.
I created my album using most of the rest of my Trunk Punky album. I still have one more piece left and you'll see that later this month. ;)
I love using the Lacy Lil' Blossoms, they make fantastic mats for my photos and titles. And, the new Lil' Seeds, custom dyed buttons, are awesome! I've got a few of them sprinkled throughout my album as well.
The adorable star flair worked really well with the theme of my album and I just adore the colors!
Here's a close up of the embossing powder I used. It's called Angel Wings Gold. I love how it looks on the canvas!
Joscie's flair also has fun sayings like love you and you are made of awesome. How perfect for my little man! :)

This page below also uses the embossing powder. The trick to using embossing powder on canvas is to not heat it too much the first time you heat it. Just enough to start to melt but not enough to let it soak in. Then you can pour more on while it's still warm and melt that layer more thoroughly.
I love these two photos on the right of my kiddos being brave and dunking their heads under water so I used a my fave flair along with a this is awesome sticker. :)
On the back page I've got all my journaling and more Lil' Blossoms-Lacy and another super cute flair!

Seriously, peeps!  You have got to get yourself some BossyJoscie flair.  I have to admit that I owned a ton of it before this swap and I'm looking forward to getting more.  Mama needs more colors!  ;)

Christmas Planner with Lily Bee and Punky Sprouts!

I'm here with a little Christmas in September for you!
Now, I loved the Christmas Cheer line I received from Lily Bee and decided to create an organizer to get me ahead of the game for Christmas. I took two pages from a Trunk Punky album and cut each of them in half to act as covers and dividers for my organizer.

I covered each page with some of my favorite papers and decorated them with stickers, journaling cards, blossoms, petals, stems and buttons. I kept the tops of the last three pages flat because I knew I was going to be writing on them. The backs of the first three pages and the front cover got to be nice and dimensional though! :)

Finally, I designed a few lists to print out and use as the actual pages in my organizer. One for gifts, one for events and the other two are for decorations and traditions and will go together in the middle section.

I cut those into 3 1/2" by 5" pages and filled up my organizer!

I hope this project helps inspire you to get ready for the Christmas season!  It's only 92 days away, you know! Hee!!!

ps~If you'd like a copy of the interior pages I made, shoot me an e-mail at melegs(at)hotmail(dot)com!
