My Sketch World October Sketch and a Contest at A Walk Down Memory Lane!

Hi everyone! It's October 1st and I've got some fun stuff for you today!


First up, the October 1st sketch for My Sketch World!



Doesn't Lucy do a great job? Her sketches are always so much fun to work with! Here's my take.


Mickey likes to bring me things when he plays outside. Rocks, leaves, frogs and this day, he and my dad went down to the neighbor's creek and picked me some flowers! Such a sweetie!

I used an older Crate Paper line for this layout and some new white American Crafts rose ribbon. Well, it was white! LOL! I gave it a little Glimmer Mist love and now it goes wonderfully with my layout. The Jillibean Corrugated letters were also white and got a little Glimmer Mist lovin' and I inked the edges of pretty much everything with Milled Lavender Distress Ink. Using an ink on the edges isn't new but I sometimes don't like the slight aged look that brown ink gives everything. By using a color that matches my layout, it helps define all the layers without aging a layout about a sweet little boy.

In other news, today is our dog, Devo's 14th birthday!!! Happy Birthday, Old Man!!! :D

What are you doing for World Card Making Day? It's tomorrow, you know. I'll be in Sunriver with some girlfriends, scrappin' the weekend away. My friend, Mandy, is going to make me a lemon meringue pie (from scratch!) for my birthday!
