Punky Sprouts!!!!

I'm the newest member of the Punky Sprouts Design Team! It's my first manufacturer team and I'm just over the moon about it!

They make the coolest mixed media albums with a variety of pages like canvas, corrugated cardboard, chipboard, and acrylic. They've also got some amazing embellishments with more awesome styles to come! I've loved them ever since I discovered them and as a bunch of gals I already knew in person were on the team, it was easily at the top of my wish list for teams to try out for. It's an even bigger honor for me that I was asked to join and didn't have to try out! Cloud nine, people, cloud nine!!!! :)

I met up with Shelly, the owner, this weekend and picked up my first DT albums. I'm so excited to get started and can't wait to share this with you all.

So, stinkin' happy!!!!

AWDML February Featured Manufacturer!

Hey guys! Our second Featured Manufacturer (and my last one!) at A Walk Down Memory Lane is Magnolia. They have some super cute little girl stamps (Tilda, anyone?) adorable scenic stamps, and some fun dies and embellishments.

I snagged this cute little flower stamp and made some cards with it. I had fun with my gray Copics to create this soft B&W and silver thinking of you card. It's one of those cards for when something not great is happened yet a sympathy card is just not appropriate. Unfortunately, I had someone in mind when I made it and I'll be hand delivering it soon. I hope it cheers her up a little!

This little card is done using that fun paper piecing with stamps technique. It's probably going to be a Mother's Day card for Granny. :)

And, a simple Sympathy card. I just used white ink and a masking technique to make this super cute stamp a little more elegant. I didn't have anyone in mind when I made this, thank goodness!

I finally did a clear card!!! It's pretty simple but was so fun to make!!! The blue circle and ribbon are on the outside of the front of the card and the white circle is on the inside so you can write your message and it won't be seen when the card is closed. I embossed this stamp with silver and then colored in the flowers with my Copics. My mom loves this one so it will probably end up as her birthday card. :D

Well, thanks for stopping by and checking these out. Don't forget to head over to AWDML before the month is up to snag your Magnolia goodies for 25% off. (Seriously, check out these dies and this garland, soooooo cute!!!!)

My Sketch World Sketch-a-thon!!!

Every day of the Sketch-a-Thon, Lucy posts a sketch and a challenge along with it. If you do just the sketch you get one entry in the drawing and if you do the sketch and incorporate the challenge with it, you get three points. (ps-don't tell Andrew I used the word incorporate!) Each point enters you into a drawing for a ton of prizes. If Jillibean Soup, Nikki Sivils, Imaginisce, Shimmerz, Dixie Pieces, My Scrapbook Nook, A Walk Down Memory Lane and a half dozen other places sound like good sponsors you reaaaaaaally want to join in. The prizes are amazing!!!

Here are my entries so far in the My Sketch World Sketch-a-Thon.

Day 1-A Birthday themed layout. I really wanted to dig into my My Scrapbook Nook February kit and none of the birthday pics I had really worked with it so...I kinda stepped outside of the box a little and used a pic from Audrey's Birth Day. :)

Day 2-The challenge was a color combo challenge. Black, white, orange, dk blue and light blue. I turned the banners in the sketch into buttons. I love how this card turned out! :)

Day 3-We had to use some distressing on this one so I sanded the edges of the patterned paper. Again, from the Nook February kit.

I did a little fussy cutting on this so I wouldn't lose so much of the cool patterns on this paper. Oh, and lest you think that it's totally not my style, the last sentence of the journaling on this page reads, "We think you are as pretty as a peacock...and just as loud!". LOL!!!

Day 4-This challenge was to use the sketch to create a card with masculine colors and theme. I had my Father-in-Law in mind when I made this one. He'll be getting this one for Father's Day!

Day 5-This one was a time challenge. We had to have it in the gallery by the end of the day. I dug out the papers for Aud's 1st b-day and some pics from her party and whipped out this bad boy. This is actually my first layout about her first birthday and it doesn't have her in it. Yikes! I'll be bringing these papers and photos along with me this weekend and hopefully I'll crank a few more out for her. :)
Day 6-We had to enter a contest on the blog for this challenge in honor of her son's b-day. :) I made a Valentine's Day card for Andrew using the sketch and I love it so much that I snagged it for my scrap room right after I gave it to him! I LOVE Baker's Twine!!!!

Remember the calendars I made for Christmas gifts? These teeny pics are the index prints from those. They are a quarter of the size of normal index prints because I had four different pictures on each print.

I've only done six of the sketches because that's all that were posted by the time I had my Super Bowl scrappy weekend. LOL! I'm heading out for a scrappy retreat this weekend and so I'll print out the rest and take them with me. Hopefully, I get them all done because I'm having so much fun with them!!! :)
If you've got a little time, you should totally join in!

Valentine's Day!

We started out our day with Bull's Eyes using a heart shaped cookie cutter. :)

It's one of my dad's specialties.

Both the kids love them!

Lunch continued the heart theme with pink grapefruit and PB & J's cut out with the same cookie cutter. (Note to self, Mickey no longer likes grapefruit!)

After lunch we ran errands. First to the post office.
And then to the grocery store. As a special Valentine's treat, I let the kids bring their own grocery carts.

They had so much fun and got a lot of attention. (Note to self-there are a lot more people at the store in the early afternoon than you thought there would be.)

We had a lot of fun at the store but the best part was we ran into someone special! Granny!!!

We saw her at the check out and talked her into having a snack with us. We had the yummiest mini oatmeal cookie sandwiches.
Mickey picked the ones with pink frosting for us for Valentine's Day. He's such a sweetie!

Granny's not a fan of getting her picture taken (go back and check out her expression if you don't believe me) so I handed off the camera to her and made her take my pic. We got this awesome one of me and Mickey.

And, my new favorite picture! I know Mickey's looking the wrong way and Aud's got a mouthful of cookie but it's me! With my kids!!! LOVE IT!!!!! This picture is going to get scrapped a couple times and will also be making an appearance in a 5x7 frame. (Note to self-92 year olds make great photographers!)

For dinner, I made some homemade pizza dough and we had a heart shaped pizza! (Andrew got a normal shaped one because we put his on the circular tray, no room for a heart.)
Here are my Valentine's loading up the heart-shaped pizza.

Mmmm, Canadian Bacon & Pineapple! Andrew hates this and we love it! Although, Mickey had a slice of Andrew's pepperoni pizza.
Oh, and I wanted to post this earlier but I so ran out of time. :)

These were the Valentines that Mickey gave out at his preschool party last Thursday. I saw them last year and hoped I'd remember to do them once he finally had classmates to give them to! LOL!

They turned out really well and Mickey loved them. Win-win, baby!!!
Did you guys have a good Valentine's Day? :)

Hmmm, I may just have to make my own!

So, I found two scrumptious necklaces on Etsy and was having a hard time deciding between the two.

First up, we have this beautiful and bright little lady named Esme from a shop called tamar.

Oh, those beautiful bright colors! She makes me happy just looking at her!!!

My second, and a bit cheaper option was this slightly smaller and more subdued Spring Pastels from the now defunct (seriously, there is no sign of it anywhere!) shop called ellarainn.

She's another pretty one and makes me happy, too! (Not quite as cheerful as Esme, but please don't let her know!)

Anyway, I've been debating between the two for a few days now, as there's a $20 difference in price between these two ladies.

Well, it's now a moot point as someone (less cheap!) has purchased Esme and as I mentioned before, the other shop has now disappeared.

Sigh. I think I may have to try to make my own now. :(

I have a poor track record with actually following through with stuff like this, as my unmade Maya Road trinket bracelet will attest. Do you guys remember that one? So stinkin' cute!!!

Since I know this about myself, I tried calling the local bead store (biggest one in Oregon) because I figured they could help me or I could take a class and make it in class, but they don't carry the resin flower cabochons so I'm out of luck.

I'll be buying the supplies bit by bit over the next few weeks and hopefully, I'll find a store or someone who can guide me through the assembly process.

This is gonna take a while...

My OLW Banner!

Hey guys! I finally made something with my One Little Word, Achieve, on it! I saw this super cute wreath that was made of the new Jillibean papers wrapped around wooden spools in all the CHA pics and used that idea to create this banner.

Don't they make the cutest little spacers??? :)

I used a bunch of stuff on these. Scraps from my patterned paper scraps drawer, some long hoarded Making Memories letters, little cupcake liners and lots and lots of mists, paints and glazes!!!

Here's a little close up so you can see the layers and all the bling better. :)

I used Glimmer Mists, Maya Mists, Mister Hueys, Shimmerz Blingz and I finally got to use my Plaid Extreme Glitter Paint. Remember, the stuff that Audrey ate and wore. Sigh.
Anyway, I love how this turned out. It's sort of vintagey, shimmery and aqua-ey and spring greeney and it's hanging proudly in my scrap room! Hee!

Dixie Pieces Reveal-Dreamsicle!

I'm so excited! This is my first month as a Design Team member for the Dixie Pieces kit club! I couldn't have asked for a prettier kit to start out my term with. Check it out, it's called Dreamsicle!!!

I had so much fun with this really versatile kit!

It's feisty.

It's cool.

It's sophisticated.

It's pink. ;)

And, it's so very sweet!!!
I am now officially in the mood for Valentine's Day. Fortunately, I've still got enough goodies left in the kit for about three more layouts and a bunch of cards and maybe, just maybe, the kiddos and I can attack the scraps and make a heart garland! :D

A Walk Down Memory Lane Feb Reveal!!!

February is my last month on the A Walk Down Memory Lane Design Team and I've had so much fun there! The girls are all amazing and it's been such a push for me to create more and with lines that I normally wouldn't have. It's been so wonderful and this will be a bittersweet month for me. :)
Our first Featured Manufacturer this month is Imaginisce! I made these super sweet layouts using the Twitterpated line and I've got another layout and a card or two in the works as well.

I found this set of Felties from Sassafrass that looked like it was made for this line and I used up almost the entire pack on these two layouts. And, you can't quite tell from the photo but Aud's jammies in the second layout match that paper so well it's ridiculous!

As always, everything from Imaginisce will be 25% off for the month of February. (i-Rock or i-Top, anyone???) :D
