This Week...

This week was our last full week of summer vacation before Mickey starts first grade. I really wanted to make the most of it because I worked two thirds of the summer.

So, Tuesday morning, I packed up the kids and told them, "We're going on an adventure!!!!"

And, off we headed for the coast!

We actually shopped the Lincoln City Outlet Malls first for school clothes and then hit the beach at the D River Park. We played down there for a couple of hours in the sand. We built a pool and piled up rocks in the middle of the river to try to create our own island.

After that we shopped a little more (hello Goodwill & a scrapbook store) and then had dinner at Gallucci's Pizza.

On the way home we stopped at Craft Warehouse in Salem and got Mickey his own Project Life set up! He's really excited to start scrapping like mom. I'm hoping that this can be our little Monday thing that we do together and then I'll get mine done, too! LOL!

I got him the Childhood Mini Kit-Wellington Edition and a small pack of Photo Pocket Pages in Design A. He's already started saving things for his album and is much more ready to get his picture taken when I mention that we can put it in his album.

Example A:  Us in his new first grade classroom at school on Thursday night. (He was trying to sneak in some funny faces!)

I tried but couldn't get him to agree to a pic with his new teacher. He's still my shy guy!

Punky Sprouts Birthday Banner!

Punky Sprouts swapped with Faber Castell and I got some really cool metallic pens and a set of their new artists crayons.

I used the Photo Freedom Birthday Wishes line from Echo Park, designed by Glitz. I've really loved the goodies that Glitz has come out with lately and I had to get this once I saw it.

I used the gold pen from Faber Castell to add a trendy touch of gold to the edges of my large Lacy Blossom and small Parchment Blossom. It's an awesome little pen and I'm glad I got it.

I also used a ton of those little enamel dots...I am enamored of them!  (Ack! So punny!!!)

I also used some Gelatos that I had. Love those little things. They are really fun to play with!

I also colored the edges of the Teenie Beanie Sprout pages with the gold pen.

On the large Lacy Blossoms, I slightly blended the gold pen with water. Love the effect it gives!

Thanks for stopping by!

Aloha!

Our little family got to go on an amazing adventure for the first half of this month. We traveled to Hawaii for the first time! (Well, second for Andrew.)

We left on the 1st for O'ahu and stayed with Andrew's sister and her family until the 5th. Then we hopped over to Maui and stayed in a resort with my family through the 11th.

It was seriously awesome! We had the best time. Hawaii was beautiful and we were able to make some wonderful memories with friends and family.

Here are some of the highlights of O'ahu in words and photos.
